The following images all came from a sample book made by
a travelling salesman who worked for the Chad Valley Toy
Company. It was not an official company catalogue,
so I presume they were special photographs either taken by
the salesman or specially for them. The sample book
would then have been used to take to the toy shops such as
Gammages in London and the
Harrogate Toy Fairs in the hope of selling items in bulk
for general sale. The book dates from between 1925
and 1937. The names given under each Bonzo are what
was handwritten by the salesman under each photo.
