Plays Of The Moment 1923
No.XXX “Battling Butler” (plus Bonzo).

Battling Butler finds that Bonzo brings him good luck:  Mr. Jack Buchanan (centre) with Miss Sydney Fairbrother (left), and Miss Phyllis Titmuss (right).
"Battling Butler", which has now moved to the Adelphi, is one of the most entertaining productions imaginable.  Alfred Butler has an elderly wife - played to perfection by Miss Sydney Fairbrother - and in order to win himself a little freedom from home ties, he pretneds to be Battling Butler, the professional boxer.  He keeps up the deception even when he has to face the prospect of a real entry into the ring; but all is well in the end, for with the help of lucky Bonzo, of "The Sketch", he gets the credit of winning the fight without having to knock out an opponent.
